Audrey Hotard, member of the Habersham Middle School Cross Country and Track and Field teams, joined by her twin sister, Abigail Hotard, member of the Habersham Middle School Cross Country and Habersham JV Raider Soccer teams, participated in the Georgia Middle School State Track Championships held in Lilburn Georgia on April 25th.
They participated as members of Team Fusion, a private running club based in Royston.
The 4X800 meter relay team of Abigail and Audrey Hotard, Megan Hightower, and Ansley Moore won the state championship by a full 35 seconds with a time of 10:14.
“Coach Jared (Hightower) and I couldn’t have been more proud of all the girls and the hard work they had been putting in all year, and to see them win the relay as a team was magical,” Team Fusion Coach Jason Guillorn said.
In addition to the state championship, Audrey took third place in the 1600 meter with a personal record time of 5:19 and seventh in the 800 meter with a personal record time of 2.29.
