The Southeast Tourism Society (STS) recently honored A taste of Clarkesville as a Top 20 Event for September.  This is the third consecutive year the event has earned this prestigious designation.

The STS Top 20 Events marketing program highlights the “best of the best” from submitted entries. Events are selected from each of the following STS member states: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia.  The Top 20 Events publication is distributed to more than 1600 newspapers, periodicals, radio stations and television stations. The combined circulation of organizations using the publication is well into the millions. The potential media coverage of these events has made the Top 20 Events list a coveted honor.

Now celebrating its sixth year, A taste of Clarkesville was originally created by Clarkesville Business & Community Association (CBCA) to showcase downtown restaurants, local wineries, nearby breweries, and all of the businesses located in beautiful downtown Clarkesville.  This year’s culinary event will also feature live entertainment and a large number of door prizes donated by the generous business community.  The 6th Annual A taste of Clarkesville is slated for Saturday, September 26th from 12 Noon- 3pm in Downtown Clarkesville.

Sherry Callahan, Festival Chairperson, says the event appeals to locals and out-of-towners alike. “This fall event gives our neighbors – both near and far-  a time and place to gather for food, fun and fellowship.  Our 6th Annual Taste promises to be another great day in Clarkesville!!”

The event, which drew over 3,500 people last year, is a collaborative effort of the CBCA, Clarkesville Main Street and the City of Clarkesville.
