Tallulah Falls wins big in first round of playoffs

The Tallulah Falls School Indians turned up the defensive pressure after the 1st quarter Saturday night in route to their first round victory in the state tournament.

Trailing by 25-14 early in the 2nd quarter, Coach Jim Van Hooser called timeout and the Indians came out firing and never slowed down, outscoring Landmark Christian 42-11 through the middle of the 4th quarter before emptying the bench.  The Indians were led early by senior co-captain Michael Van Hooser who scored 8 points early on his way to a 14 point night.
Trey Wilcox had a great all around night scoring 13 points with 8 rebounds and 4 assists.  The Indians were led in scoring by senior co-captain Josey Keene with 22 points.  TFS had a great night at the free throw line going 12 for 13 led by senior Michael Weidner who was a perfect 4 for 4 from the charity stripe and pulled down 10 rebounds.  The Indians now move on to the Sweet Sixteen round to face St. Francis who has played in the last 3 state championship games  The game will be at St. Francis in Alpharetta on Thursday night.  The win brings the Indians record to 24-4 on the season.
