The Tallulah Falls School will present their own take on the classic fairy tale Cinderella on April 17th. “The audience should expect something new,” says Drama Teacher and Director Stephanie Witham. “It’s not the version of Cinderella that we all know, although the story follows the same plot line.”
The story of the glass slipper wearing future princess is very hot right now thanks to Disney’s new live-action movie (currently in theaters). The stage version, by Robert Neil Porter and Jack Perry, is a very different tale. “There are no mice, no cat named Lucifer,” Witham reports, “but we have a dog Rover and a silly Fairy Godmother. It is a funny and bright version of the story.”
Cinderella is the school’s Spring Musical and, according to Witham, rehearsals have been a blast. “As a cast we have had a lot of fun making the characters come to life and I believe that will reflect on the work done that day. I hope the audience will enjoy watching as much as we have enjoyed putting the show together.”
Tallulah Falls School, in cooperation with Pioneer Drama Service, will present Cinderella on April 17 at 7:00PM in the Gertrude Long Harris Theater on campus. Admission is free!
