The Tallulah Falls Boys Basketball team beat White County, Pinecrest Academy, and Mt. Pisgah to start the season with 3 wins agains 0 losses.
Josey Keene led four players for the Indians in double figures in the White County game with 20 points followed by Trey Wilcox, 14 points, Michael Weidner, 13 points, and Michael Van Hooser with 11 points. White County had a strong performance by John Ward with 20 points. Tallulah Falls never trailed in the 1st two games of the season leading by double figures most of the time in both games before beating Pinecrest Academy out of Cumming by a score of 61-32 and White County by a score of 78-62.
On Saturday, the Indians travelled down to Johns Creek to play a very talented and undefeated Mt. Pisgah team. After a close contest in the first quarter, the Indians began to pull away to lead by 10 points at halftime and kept the lead in double figures until the end of the game with a final score of 51-42. Michael Weidner, Josey Keene, and Michael Van Hooser led the Indians again in scoring while they got a strong defensive effort by Thala Freeman, Trey Wilcox, and Zatrick Pearce.
Tallulah Falls is off to their best start in many years and have had five different players scoring in double figures. Coach Jim Van Hooser commented “the depth that we have has been very helpful early in the season.” Jake Carver and Sanson Navarrete lead the Indians from the point guard position.
The Indians take the week off for Thanksgiving and return to action on Tuesday, November 29th against Providence Christian Academy in Lilburn.
