The Town of Tallulah Falls has a new acting mayor. Mayor Pro Tem Deb Goatcher is filling the seat after the abrupt resignation of Mayor Dan Hayes.
In his letter of resignation to the town, Hayes cited ‘personal reasons’ as his reason for stepping down. He served just over a year, defeating former Mayor Carl Seaman in last year’s election.
A press release from the Town of Tallulah Falls says the town accepted Hayes’ resignation and Goatcher will serve in the position until a special election is held for the mayor’s office.
