T. Herman Evans, 82, of Simpsonville, South Carolina, passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2025.
Mr. Evans was born on March 5, 1942, in Habersham County, Georgia, to the late John Grady and Sallie Mae Pruitt Evans. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Cheryl Ann Evans; sisters Allene Prater, Hazel Holbrook, and Carolyn Hembree; and brothers Johnny Evans, Floyd Evans, Tommy Evans, and Hoyt Evans.
Mr. Evans was a Veteran of the United States Air Force. He retired from General Electric after many years of service.
Survivors include his loving wife of 58 and a half years, Rita Jacobs Evans, of Simpsonville, SC; daughter and son-in-law, Sharon Allison Conway and Michael Conway, of Madison, SC; sons and daughters-in-law, Paul and Melissa Evans, of Anderson, SC; Frank and Christina Evans, of Due West, SC; sisters, Martha Ann Stewart, and Peggy Evans; brother, Alfred Evans, and Jimmie Evans. nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 22, 2025, at the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, with Rev. Lester Evans officiating. Interment will follow in the Yonah Memorial Gardens with Military Honors provided by the United States Air Force and Grant Reeves Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Friday, February 21, 2025.
