Sylvia Jane Tilley, age 75, of Mt. Airy, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, September 7, 2024.
Ms. Tilley was born on February 15, 1949 in Cartersville, Georgia and was raised in Taylorsville, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her parents, S.V. “Pete” and Gladys Tilley; paternal grandparents, A.Y. and Delta Tilley; maternal grandparents, William “Sam” and Carrie Ruff; and sister-in-law, Susan Tilley.
Jane retired from North Georgia Technical School with over 25 years of dedicated service. She was very active with Relay for Life for many years. Jane will be remembered for her love for traveling to the beach and visiting her favorite place, the family farm.
Jane leaves behind her beloved son, Steven Burris; and grandchildren, Colton and Ellie Burris; brothers, Joe (Betty Jane) of Taylorsville; Phil Tilley of Aragon; nieces and nephews, Carrie “KK” (Carter) Smith, Amy Tilley, Lori (Allen) Popham, of Taylorsville, Derrick (Cassie) Tilley of Aragon. Jane loved her great nieces and nephews, Maggie (Nick) Burns, Marleigh Smith, Arianna and Craig Allee, Brandon (Ashton) Popham, Courtney Popham, Tana (Patrick) Hulsey, Lauren Tilley and Maddie Tilley; great-great nieces and nephews, Mason and Eleanor Popham, Dawson and Evelyn Hulsey. Jane had so many long-time friends and special people in her life, as well as her special grandchildren, Thomas (Abbi) Wilson, Lou-Lou (Jacob) Wilson, Maraina Wilson, Kayden Wilson, Maddie Roach, and Kaylee Coffee.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
