Swim team collects multiple state cuts in Hawaiian Luau home meet

The Tallulah Falls swim teams were in action for their third meet of the season on Saturday, hosting several programs in the Hawaiian Luau Invitational. The varsity and middle school teams had a great showing. The boys and girls varsity teams placed second, while the MS girls were first and boys second.

The varsity Lady Indians grabbed GHSA state meet cuts for relays with a qualifying time in the 200 Freestyle Relay. Carsyn Griffis, Emma Jackson, Mattie Patterson, and Madison Dampier swam to a 1:48.38 and first place in that event. Dampier also earned two additional individual cuts in both the 200 Individual Medley and the 100 Butterfly, both of which she won. Other varsity swimmers with top-3 finishes include Griffis, Patterson, Henry Rickman, Emery Sims, and William Xu.

Middle school swimmers with top-3 finishes include Henry Dumas, Olivia Henderson, Teagan Penland, Emily Shoemaker, Adelaide Tatum, Veronica VerBerkmoes, and Sebastian York.
