Firefighters from around the state gathered in Augusta last week for their annual Georgia Fire Service Conference. During the event, they honored White County Fire Captain Lanier Swafford.
The joint gathering of the Georgia Association of Fire Chiefs (GAFC) and the Georgia State Firefighters Association took place August 22 through 25.
At the closing reception, the State Firefighters Association presented Swafford with its President’s Award. The award recognizes Swafford for his mentorship and leadership in the Association.
“We congratulate Captain Swafford on this award and being recognized as a valuable resource for not only our firefighters but the state of Georgia,” says White County Fire Chief Michael LeFevre.
