Suspected gang member arrested on drug charges

(Cleveland)- A suspected gang member was arrested last week on drug charges at an apartment in Cleveland. In a news release from the Cleveland Police Department, Chief John Foster said, his department along with the Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office last Friday conducted a search of apartment D-16 at 105 Bryant Street.

Foster said, the subject of the search was Andrea Chandler. Billy Grant Burton shares this apartment and resides with Andrea Chandler.

At that location officials found containers identified as belonging to Billy Burton. Inside these containers police found, according to Chief Foster, a quantity of methamphetamine, scales, baggies, and a list of money owed by individuals. Additionally, items were found that indicates this activity is connected to an organized gang known as Ghost Face. They also found papers (ledger) cloth flag, graffiti, and weapons which Foster said were confirmed as being affiliated with the Gangster Disciples.

Foster said, this apartment is described as a Trap House for the sale and use of illegal drugs. Also, a search of apartment D-15 was made, which resulted in the discovery of additional gang and drug activity items.

Chief Foster said, 33-year old Billy Grant Burton was arrested and was charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, and two separate counts of participation in criminal gang activity.

The case remains open and Chief Foster said, “I will pursue these gang members as long as they are within my jurisdiction.”
