Suspect charged with assaulting police officer during White County drug arrest

A Hall County man accused of trafficking methamphetamine also faces assault charges in connection with his arrest Tuesday.

Authorities arrested Timothy Lott, 32, in White County on March 16 as part of an ongoing drug investigation. Cleveland police officers and White County deputies assisted the Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office in making the arrest.

They charged Lott with multiple drug offenses including trafficking meth, possession and distribution of heroin, and possession of fentanyl. According to ARDEO, officers seized 56 grams of methamphetamine, 3.2 grams of heroin, and .5 grams of fentanyl during the investigation.

The estimated street value of the drugs is $2,000.00.

“Lott was also charged with aggravated assault on a police officer and fleeing and attempting to elude police, along with other related charges that stemmed from an incident during the time of his arrest,” an ARDEO news release states. Details of the assault were not immediately available.

The investigation is active and ongoing.
