A suspect has been charged in connection with Thursday’s armed robbery at Habersham Federal Credit Union in Homer. 22-year old Mitchell Logan Reeves of Hall County was arrested by officers with the GBI and Banks County Sheriff’s Office yesterday following a 3 1/2 hour manhunt.

According to a press release issued by the Banks County Sheriff’s Office today, clothing believed to have been worn during the robbery along with a handgun were recovered within close proximity of the crime. The stolen money was also recovered in the same area as the clothing and handgun.

Banks County Chief Deputy Shawn Williams says Reeves is the same suspect authorities previously identified to the media as “a person of interest.” According to Williams, Reeves has had previous run-ins with the law.

Reeves is charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault, tampering with evidence, possession of a weapon during the commission of a crime and obstruction of an officer.

He’s now being held at the Banks County Detention Center.
