A Douglasville man is behind bars, charged in connection with the recent shooting death of former Stephens County high school football star Tomas Colbert. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation says 35-year old Marqkeela Lawain Hill was arrested Monday by GBI agents and the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.
He’s charged with one count of murder.
The 21-year old Colbert was found shot on February 7, 2016 at a residence on Falls Road in Toccoa.
According to WNEG news, police officers found Colbert alive and conscious with several gunshot wounds. He later died at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
In 2012, Colbert was named a standout athlete at Stephens County High School where he played football and basketball.
