A Winder man has been arrested after authorities say he’s suspected of being involved in a series of burglaries.
Authorities say Barrow County deputies responded to a burglary at 2325 Atlanta Hwy Wednesday, Dec. 11, after a caller reported an unknown male entering the residence and exiting through a side window.
On scene, deputies deployed a canine unit to track the suspect at a residence in the vicinity. Items believed to have been stolen were allegedly located outside the suspect’s home.
Police say the suspect, later identified as Daniel Arellano-Mata, 28, of Winder, matched a description provided by a neighbor.
A search warrant executed at Arellano-Mata’s residence led to the discovery of items that allegedly linked him to four other burglaries in Barrow County and Statham areas, according to authorities.
Arellano-Mata was transported to the Barrow County Detention Center and charged with one count of burglary, though police say additional charges are pending further investigation.
Anyone with additional information related to this case or other burglaries is asked to contact Investigator Wyatt or Lt. Roberts with the Criminal Investigation Division at (770)-307-3080 ext. 3087.
