Stocking up on school supplies can be expensive. That’s why Windstream and the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office are sponsoring two separate drives for donated supplies to help students and schools.
Throughout the month of August, Windstream will be collecting classroom supplies at its retail stores. Everything from paper and pencils, to binders and glue sticks, calculators, and flash drives is needed to help outfit classrooms in different grades.
If you’d like to donate, please review the list of needed items on the flyer and turn in your donations to your local Windstream retail store.
The store in Cornelia is located at 282 Furniture Plaza in the Walmart shopping center off of Business U.S. 441.
The Habersham County Sheriff’s Office, meanwhile, has a school bus its employees hope to fill up with supplies for school children. Under the banner of Pencils & Paper For Pupils, the bus will roll into Cornelia and Clarkesville next week so shoppers can help fill it up.
The bus will travel to three locations next week to receive donations. It will be parked outside each of the following locations from 9 a.m. until noon:
- Tuesday, August 11: Walmart in Cornelia
- Thursday, August 13: Ingles in Clarkesville
- Friday, August 14: Ingles in Cornelia
