Summer Concerts return to Cornelia Friday, May 29th

Cornelia, GA – This Friday, May 29th, the Cornelia Main Street/Downtown Development Authority officially kicks off Summer with the first concert in the Cornelia Summer Concert Series. The concerts make a move this year to the Cornelia City Park Amphitheater. The old amphitheater at the big city park had not been used in years, so the city completed work to the area surrounding the amphitheater to make it easier to use for activities. The level ground in front of the amphitheater is now an inviting location for summer concerts with plenty of shade from the wooded area surrounding the stage. Bring your blankets and chairs to Cornelia City Park this Friday and enjoy the free concert.

Headlining the June show is Gina Gailey. Gina’s most recent accomplishments include being a finalist for the 2014 GA Music Awards Country Female Artist of the Year and a finalist for the 2014 and 2013 Georgia-Country Awards for Female Artist of the Year. Gina hit #1 with her single “Is It You” in the local country charts on www.reverbnation.com.  She and her band recently opened for Jamey Johnson at the Georgia Theatre and she released a new single earlier this spring, “I Know You Won’t”.  She was also the 2007 winner of the Northeast Georgia Colgate Country Showdown, a Loretta Lynn talent search finalist, Nashville’s Studio 23 talent search runner-up and Capitol Records ‘Road to Nashville’ Alternate. Gina is an accomplished country music singer/songwriter who has performed all over Georgia, Tennessee, Texas and the Carolina’s.  She has opened for Ricky Skaggs, Bo Bice, and many others. She has performed at Lanier National Speedway and Gresham Motorsports Park.  Gina was broadcast live overseas to the troops and worldwide on American Broadcast Radio.
