Strong Early Voter Turnout in Habersham

If early voting in Habersham County is any indication, Super Tuesday is going to be big draw at the ballot box. Election Supervisor Laurel Ellison says 3,642 voters cast ballots from February 8-26, 2016. That’s nearly 21% of the county’s 17,705 active, registered voters.

Here’s how the numbers break down:

  • Absentee Ballots by Mail – 411 ballots mailed (300 have been returned so far)
  • Early Voting in Elections & Registration Office – 976
  • Saturday Voting – 219
  • Advance Voting – 2,147

Ellison says the “above higher than normal” Presidential Preference Primary early voting totals indicate Election Day will be heavier than normal. “Voters may experience some wait time,” she cautions, “but since the ballots only have the presidential preference race on them, the wait time should be minimal.”

Now that all early voting has ended, your next chance to cast a ballot for your preferred presidential candidate will be this coming Tuesday, March 1st. If you intend to vote on Super Tuesday you must do so at your assigned county precinct.
