Stephens Mountain Education honors graduates, prepares for new chapter

The Stephens Mountain Education class of 2025.

On May 22, the Stephens campus of Mountain Education celebrated the achievements of its graduating class during a ceremony held at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Toccoa.

This year’s graduates are Dakota Benefield, Hannah Biggers, Daniel Crowe, Chloe Fowler, Eric Hayes, Skyler King (High Honor Graduate), Hannah Payne, Jada Rogers, Lauren Simmons, and Isabellia Smith. Each student has earned at least one scholarship to support their continued education or technical training in the year ahead.

The ten members of the Class of 2025 receive their diplomas during a graduation ceremony at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Toccoa, Ga. on May 22, 2025.

Mountain Education’s mission is to provide students across North Georgia the opportunity to earn an accredited high school diploma through a student-centered, self-paced, evening public school model. At the Stephens campus, students from both Franklin and Stephens counties have found a flexible and supportive alternative to traditional school or homeschooling, according to principal Dr. Tracy Allison.

Students enroll for a variety of reasons—some return to finish their high school education after time away, others seek to graduate early, and many appreciate the option of attending classes in the evening while working during the day. The ten graduates honored this year each followed their own path to success through the program.

Looking ahead, the Stephens campus is preparing to move to a new location this August. The campus will relocate to 327 Indian Trail on the Stephens County High School campus, providing a refreshed space to continue serving local students and families.
