If you ever wanted a prom do-over, here’s your chance. The City of Cornelia and the Cornelia Hospitality & Tourism Board will host Tacky Prom on Friday, February 21 at Common Ground in Cornelia. The event is scheduled from 8-11 p.m. at the event center located at 643 Irvin Street.
This year’s theme is the 1990s. Don your denim, Doc Martens, windbreakers, crop tops, plaid, and other ’90s gear for a chance to walk away with the crown at the end of the night.
Local disc jockey Clay Christy will keep the music playing so you can dance into the evening. There will be a cash bar, dancing, games, prizes and a Prom King and Queen.
This party is for people ages 21 and older. Admission is free.
“Tacky Prom is probably one of my favorite events that we do every year, simply because it’s just very laid back, low-key, not a lot of fuss, but incredibly fun!,” says Community Development Manager Jessie Owensby. “It’s just a good excuse for a date night!”
Only light refreshments will be available so take your date to dinner beforehand.
