A man wanted for arson in Georgia was arrested today in Ohio. Brandon Morton, 36, was arrested by authorities after officials issued a lookout for him.
Morton was caught in a traffic stop Tuesday morning in Euclid, Ohio. He was wanted in connection with arson fires in metro Atlanta, Central, and South Georgia.
“We are incredibly grateful for the swift action of local law enforcement in Ohio, the Georgia media outlets who helped spread the word about this case, and everyday Georgians who kept an eye out for this alleged arsonist,” says State Insurance and Fire Safety Commissioner John King.
Morton is the prime suspect in a case in Gray, Georgia, where someone broke into an apartment and set fire to a sofa. Jones County authorities took out arrest warrants on him. Other warrants are pending against Morton in Henry County.
