Truett McConnell University (TMU) has appointed Dr. Stacy Hall as its vice president of advancement. In this role, Hall will oversee alumni relations, fundraising, and marketing initiatives for the university and serve as one of four vice presidents on the university cabinet.

Hall most recently served as an associate business professor at TMU and the program director for Strategic Partnerships, Advancement, And Career Advisement for the Hans Hut School of Business. He previously served as TMU’s athletic director. During that time, he developed and spearheaded the institution’s first-ever athletic capital campaign, culminating in the construction of four new athletic facilities.

“When the name of Dr. Hall surfaced as a possible candidate for Vice President of Advancement, there was a unanimous spirit that the Lord had brought the right person at the right time. Dr. Hall’s faith in the Lord, wealth of experience, and love for the university makes him the perfect candidate for this position,” says TMU President Dr. Emir Caner.

Background and career

Hall is perhaps best known locally for his political career and active civic involvement. He is the former chairman of the Habersham County Board of Commissioners and Habersham County Hospital Authority. He also served as chair of the White County Chamber of Commerce and Habersham Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA).

Hall ran as a Republican candidate for the Georgia State House and State Senate.

“I’m incredibly thankful to Dr. Caner for this opportunity and look forward to working with our incredible alumni and donors to continue to support the mission of this university,” says Hall. “At Truett McConnell University, we are proud to provide our students with a quality higher education centered by a biblical worldview. I think that’s a big reason why so many folks choose to support our mission.”

Dr. Hall received a bachelor’s degree from East Carolina University, a master’s degree from Georgia Southern University, and a Ph.D. from Florida State University.

In addition to his work at TMU, Hall is the co-founder, owner, and principal of Hall & Company, a real estate development firm in Habersham County. He has worked 27 years in sales, marketing, and management, with the bulk of his career spent managing multi-media marketing rights for NCAA Division I schools around the Southeast.

Hall has been married to Ivy Copeland Hall for 23 years. They have two children and have served as a host family for two international students. He and his family are members of Level Grove Baptist Church in Cornelia, Georgia.
