A South Carolina man is facing drugs and weapons charges here in North Georgia, according to GBI.
Samuel Devahn Jones, 30, was arrested for trafficking methamphetamine, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon after an investigation during a traffic stop in Habersham on Wednesday, Jan. 29.
Last month, the Georgia State Patrol (GSP) initiated a traffic stop on Jones for a violation on GA 365 North. During a search of the vehicle, authorities say GSP discovered 4.5 kilograms of suspected methamphetamine and a firearm inside Jones’ vehicle. Jones, the only occupant of the car, was arrested on scene.
He was taken to the Habersham County Jail.
The investigation involved GSP, the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office and ARDEO. It remains active and ongoing.
