Soque River Ramble returns to Batesville on Oct. 27

The 6K and 1-Mile Fun Run is a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society and Habitat for Humanity

The 13th Annual Soque River Ramble is set for Sunday, Oct. 27 at Wilbanks Farm located at the headwaters of the Soque River in Batesville.  The 1-Mile Fun Run starts at 2:30 with the 6K beginning at 3 p.m.

Proceeds from the event will go to support the American Cancer Society and Habitat for Humanity of Northeast Georgia.

“Since the race will be on Sunday afternoon, we wanted to make this event have a festival-like atmosphere,” says Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of NEGA Nanette Baughman.  “We will have live music, BBQ plates for sale, activities for children and vendors. We hope folks will come and enjoy a beautiful fall afternoon and help support local charities as well.”

The racecourse offers gentle, rolling terrain through the scenic Soque and Goshen Valleys and along the headwaters of the Soque River.  The Wilbanks farm is located off Hwy. 197 on Old Chimney Mountain Road (beside Batesville General Store).
