Join the celebration on Saturday as the Soque River Watershed Association (SRWA) and the city of Clarkesville celebrate renaming the city’s Greenway trail.

The popular walking and running path adjacent to Old Clarkesville Mill will officially be renamed the Soque Greenway Trail during a ceremony at 10 a.m. on Oct. 12. The ceremony will be followed by a daylong festival—the first-ever Soque Greenway Trail Festival — that runs until 4 p.m.

“Bring the kids, bring the dogs, and come out to make this a great turnout for our community,” the SRWA invites on its Facebook page.

The festival will include games for the kids, a music concert, a plant and tree sale, specialty retail vendors, dog adoptions with Habersham County Animal Care and Control, free dog training sessions, beverage and ice cream trucks, and lunch catered by Sweetbreads.

The festival is free and open to the public. The trail is located at 525 Grant Street, off Historic U.S. 441 in Clarkesville.
