The city of Demorest is continuing to update its fire hydrants, which could leave some city water customers without service for part of Tuesday.
The Demorest Water Department issued a notice on Monday, March 10, announcing that residents from the Hazel Creek intersection on Camp Creek Road to the intersection of Dicks Hill Parkway could be affected. Residents on Glory Lane, Hazel Wood Drive, and Carl Loudermilk Drive may also experience service disruptions.
The department says these outages could last “roughly five to six hours” on March 11.
As a precaution against possible contamination, all Demorest water customers whose service is affected will be placed under a boil water advisory.
