Smith in line to lead Georgia Fire Investigators Association

State Fire Marshal Craig Landolt and State Fire Investigator Brian Smith hold the original signed chapter document, flag, and patch of the Georgia Fire Investigators Association.

State Fire Investigator Brian Smith was recently elected 2nd Vice President of the Georgia Fire Investigators Association at their annual Training Conference in Savannah. Smith, of Habersham County, was elected by fellow fire investigators from across the state.

As a state fire investigator, Smith assists local fire and law enforcement officials in determining the cause of fires and identifying those responsible.

“Brian Smith has been an excellent investigator for our office and I am proud that he has been elected to leadership of the Georgia Fire Investigators Association. I know he will represent this office and our state well,” said State Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John King.

Smith will serve as GFIA’s 2nd VP for the next year, after which time he will be appointed as 1st Vice President before taking over as President in 2024.
