A small fire broke out Sunday afternoon inside Northeast Georgia Health System’s corporate office. No one was harmed, but the fire did cause some ventilation problems, Hall County Fire Rescue officials say.
According to HCFR Public Information Officer Kimberlie Ledsinger, crews were dispatched to 3100 Frontage Road at 4:11 p.m. on May 5 for reports of a commercial fire. When the first crew arrived, they found smoke coming from inside the building.
Ledsinger says the fire was located in a single cubicle, and crews were able to knock down the flames quickly.
Northeast Georgia Health System’s corporate office is a renovated Sam’s warehouse. Due to the size of the structure, HCFR requested help from Habersham County and its positive pressure truck. The truck is equipped with what Ledsinger describes as a “massive fan” that pushes the smoke out of large buildings.
As of 9:20 p.m. Sunday, crews were still on site ventilating the building.
The Hall County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
