Update on Plane Incident at HABCO Airport

Now Habersham has learned that the report of an abandoned small plane crash at Habersham County Airport was actually caused by an incorrect technical maneuver that occurred after the plane landed successfully.

A student and flight instructor in the aircraft, a Cessna 172, slid off the taxi way after landing, when incorrect break pedal  pressure was applied causing the small plane to swerve into a grassy area. The airplane then slid a short distance down a hillside.

No injuries were reported. The Cessna was moved the following day after approval from an FAA official.
