For the second time in less than a month, a car failed to stop at the end of Ben T. Huiet Highway/GA 255 Alternate and crossed Highway 17, striking trees.
Habersham County Emergency Services and sheriff’s deputies responded to the wreck at 7:23 p.m. Monday, Feb. 26.
An ambulance transported the two occupants of the car nonemergent to Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville.
Habersham County Animal Control was initially called to take custody of a cat in the car, but nearby friends of the vehicle’s occupants arrived to pick it up.
The wreck was cleared at 8:37 p.m.
On January 31, two people were injured in a crash at that exact location at Ben T. Huiet Hwy. and Hwy. 17.
