(Toccoa) – On Wednesday, July 25, maintenance crews with the Georgia DOT Carnesville area will be working to widen the shoulders of State Route 145 (SR 145).
Workers will be in the lanes beginning at 6:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. They will begin working at SR 63 in Stephens County and work their way 8 miles south to Franklin County. They will widen each side of the roadway by 2 feet. These minor improvements increase safety by giving drivers more asphalt coverage on the edge of the roadway.
This project is being delivered by Carnesville area maintenance forces and has a scheduled completion date of August 31, weather- permitting.
Drivers are advised that there will be delays when traveling though this area. Please drive alert as large equipment and Georgia DOT maintenance staff will be in the lanes.
