American rapper and country singer Jelly Roll is set to hold a private “healing” performance for Apalachee High School this weekend, according to the city of Winder’s Facebook page.

The performance, exclusive to students and staff, will take place at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 26 at Jug Tavern Park.

Multiple road closures will affect the surrounding area before and during the performance, the post said.

  • E. Athens will close on Friday, October 25 for Spooktacular and remain closed through Saturday.
  • E. Candler and Jug Tavern Park will be closed all day Saturday.
  • Parking in downtown Winder will be limited.

Entry guidelines are as follows:

  • A security screening will be in place. Clear bags are recommended.
  • Only those with school-issued AHS wristbands will be permitted into Jug Tavern Park. All other guests will be directed to the overflow lot – while space permits.
  • Weapons, alcohol, chairs, and coolers are prohibited.
  • Blankets and unopened non-alcoholic beverages are welcome.

“This private event aims to foster healing and unity for the students, faculty, and families of Apalachee High School as they come together to reflect and support one another following September’s tragedy,” the city of Winder said on Facebook. “Thank you for your cooperation in making this a safe and enjoyable event for the Apalachee community.”
