Shooting at Elbert County nightclub leaves one teen dead, others injured

A 15-year-old Hart County student was killed after a shooting that injured several others at an Elbert County nightclub Saturday night.

Bry’Shun Jordan, a student at Hart Academy, was among multiple people shot outside 7 Grands nightclub on Evergreen Drive in Elbert County on Saturday, Oct. 12.

At least seven others were injured during the incident, which has now been classified as a homicide following Jordan’s death.

“We are deeply saddened to share the heartbreaking news of the passing of Bry’Shun Jordan, a 15-year-old Hart Academy student, on Sunday, October 13, 2024,” the Hart County School District said in a news release Sunday. “In response to this tragic loss, we will be providing additional counseling services for any students in need, starting Monday, October 14. Our thoughts and prayers are with Bry’Shun’s family, friends, and the entire Hart County community during this difficult time.”

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is now leading the investigation, but GBI referred Now Habersham to the Elbert County Sheriff’s Office.

Now Habersham reached out to Elbert County officials for an update on Oct. 14. They have yet to respond.
