Shonnie Turpin Smith, age 43, of Commerce, Georgia, passed away on Monday, January 18, 2021.
Mrs. Smith was born on October 27, 1978, in Hall County, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her brother, Casey Turpin, paternal grandparents, Otha and Virginia Turpin; maternal grandparents, Martha and Bobby Wiley; and her step-father, Don Van Huss. Shonnie was a graduate of Banks County High School and was a devoted mother and grandmother; she was an excellent cook, she loved her dogs, and was a faithful friend and wife. Shonnie was well known for her art, making beautiful collages for her friends and family. Shonnie loved to travel, hike and fish. Shonnie was a devoted and beloved daughter.
Survivors include her husband, Michael D. Smith, of Commerce; children, Ashley Breanne Dockery, of Gillsville; Ansley Taylor Trebec, of Commerce; Kelly Mae Dockery of Gillsville; Morgan Smith, of Commerce; Mackenzie Smith, of Hiawassee; Memphis Smith of Hiawassee; father and step-mother, Otho Pete and Teresa Turpin, of Lula; mother, Patricia Wiley Van Huss; siblings, Shannon D Turpin, of Florida; Corey Turpin Lula; grandchildren, Lakelynn Trebec.
Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Monday, January 25, 2021, at the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, with Pastor Lee Moon officiating. Interment will follow in the Westview Cemetery at Lula, Georgia.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, January 24, 2021, at the funeral home.
