Sheriff’s office seeks public’s help with theft investigation

The Habersham County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help to identify and locate a suspected thief.

On December 7, 2019, deputies were advised someone entered an automobile in the parking lot at the Ruby Fulbright Aquatic Center in Clarkesville. “The victim stated that someone had stolen her purse from her car and had used her debit card at Walmart,” a news release states.

Deputies were able to secure video surveillance footage of the alleged thief at Walmart. Photos from the footage show the suspect, but it’s unknown if the person is male or female.

The sheriff’s office says the suspect was a passenger in a new model white Chevrolet Traverse.

If you can help identify this person, please contact Investigator Chance Oxner at 706-839-0560 or by email at [email protected].
