“Seven Brides for Seven Brothers” musical on stage this weekend

Seven Brides for Seven Brothers is a Hollywood movie classic that’s now on stage in Habersham.

The Habersham Central High School Stage Raiders will present their final performances of the musical tonight at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m.

The story is set in 1850s Oregon. A backwoodsman brings a wife home to his farm and suddenly his six brothers decide they want to get married, too. What happens next leads to a foot stompin’, belly laughin’ good time.

HCHS Drama teacher Jeremy Bishop (back row, 4th from left) stands on stage surrounded by the senior class members of the Stage Raiders.

The show is directed by HCHS drama teacher Jeremy Bishop and choreographed by Amber Watson Miller. More than 60 students make up the cast and crew. They’ve been working on the production since early this year. On Sunday, 13 seniors in the group will take their final curtain call on the Raider stage in their last performance before graduation.

Seven Brides for Seven Brothers is showing in the HCHS Fine Arts Auditorium located at 2059 Hwy. 197 South in Mt. Airy.

Tickets are $7 for adults, $5 for students and seniors. Tickets may be purchased online at stageraiders.com or at the door.
