Lisa Watkins, Cafeteria Manager at North Habersham Middle School, was recognized by the county Board of Education Monday. She was chosen for the “Service Above Self Award” which is given to a different classified school employee at each monthly meeting of Habersham’s school board.
According to her nomination form, students are “excited about eating” in the school lunchroom at North Habersham, where Watkins “makes students her number one priority.” She decorates the lunchroom and makes the atmosphere “inviting” for those eating there.
Staff members at the school recognize special qualities in Watkins that make her deserving of the award. She has a “friendly personality” and is “exceedingly willing” to help with special projects. In fact, she often works beyond regular workday hours. North Habersham Middle School staff members report that Watkins “even helped decorate for the 8th grade dance.” They also say that it is a pleasure to have Watkins as a part of the “team” at North Habersham.
