‘Seraph Brass’ sets Piedmont concert Feb. 28

A quintet of America’s top female brass players, Seraph Brass, will perform a concert at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 28, in the Chapel at Piedmont College in Demorest.

Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for students and seniors. Piedmont College students, faculty, and staff are admitted free. The Chapel is located at 992 Central Avenue in Demorest.

The quintet includes Mary Elizabeth Bowden, trumpet; Amy McCabe, trumpet; Katy Ambrose, horn; Alexis Smith, trombone; and Beth McDonald, tuba. Committed to engaging audiences with captivating programming, Seraph Brass performs a diverse repertoire that includes original transcriptions, newly commissioned works, and well-known classics. For the Piedmont concert, they will perform works by Edvard Grieg, W.A. Mozart, Isaac Albéniz, Giacomo Puccini, Claude Debussy, and Franz Liszt.

Members of Seraph Brass recently performed on tour with Adele, and they have performed with the New York Philharmonic, San Francisco Symphony, the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Luzern Music Festival in Switzerland, the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, and the Auckland Philharmonia. Individually, they hold positions in the Richmond Symphony, the Louisville Orchestra, Sarasota Opera Orchestra, the Artosphere Orchestra, New Chicago Brass, Tennessee Tech University, and the University of Virginia.
