The driver of a tractor-trailer has been arrested after he was allegedly involved in a “dangerous” hit-and-run wreck, according to police.
On Friday, Jan. 31, Gwinnett County Police identified and charged Christian Barrier, 31, of Alabama, with hit and run, improper lane change, reckless driving and reckless conduct.
Authorities say Barrier’s arrest stems from a hit-and-run incident on Tuesday, Jan. 28, when Barrier allegedly struck a silver passenger car traveling across the I-85 overpass on Pleasant Hill Road.
As the car approached Venture Parkway, police say the truck attempted to change lanes to the right and collided with the car, causing it to spin in front of the truck. The tractor-trailer pushed the car through two intersections before coming to a stop. Barrier then allegedly fled the scene thereafter.
The driver of the car was not injured.
Barrier turned himself in at the Gwinnett County Jail on Friday.
