A 51-year-old Toccoa man is accused of sexually exploiting children. Keith Gilleland face six counts following his arrest earlier this month, according to the Toccoa Police Department.
The department received information back in May that led to the investigation. The GBI’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force is assisting with the case.
Gilleland was taken into custody on July 8 after authorities executed a search warrant at a residence at 518 South Pond Street. During the search, agents seized phones and computers. The evidence was turned over to the GBI, according to Toccoa PD.
“It is an open investigation that the GBI is assisting with. The charges of exploitation include child porn distribution through the internet either by downloading or distribution,” says Chief Jimmy Mize of the Toccoa Police Department.
Gilleland may face additional charges. He is being held at the Stephens County Jail awaiting bond.
