Missing Clarkesville teen found in Florida

A Clarkesville teen missing since Friday has been found safe in Florida. The Habersham County Sheriff’s Office says 13-year-old William Preston Lovell was located with his father in Suwannee County, Florida. “The child is now in law enforcement custody waiting to be picked up by his legal custodian,” says Habersham County Sheriff’s Lt. Matthew Wurtz. He says Preston was “in good health when located.”

The sheriff’s office issued a lookout for the teen on Saturday, twenty-four hours after he was last seen in Habersham County. A family member circulated a post on social media alleging the boy’s father took Preston from his home in Clarkesville where he lives with his grandparents. Officials have not confirmed how and where the boy went missing.

Preston’s father, 49-year-old William Rodrick “Rod” Lovell, is now in law enforcement custody. The Habersham County Sheriff’s Office has not yet said what, if any, charges will be filed against him.
