The Georgia State Patrol has suspended its active search for Guy Boisclair (pictured) who ran during a traffic stop in Clarkesville this morning.
SFC Chad Johnson with the Georgia State Patrol says Guy Boisclair fled on foot around 8 a.m. after he was pulled over in the parking lot of Hawg Wild BBQ on Historic Highway 441.
That prompted a nearly three hour search by officers, a K9 unit and GSP helicopter in the area of Old Clarkesville Mill. Johnson says they called off the search “since we have positive ID.” Warrants are being taken for Boisclair’s arrest.
Johnson says Boisclair is on probation and was driving on a suspended license. He is not considered dangerous.
Officers from Georgia State Patrol, Clarkesville Police and the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office as well as a K9 unit from Lee Arrendale State Prison and GSP Aviation assisted in the search.
The GSP asks anyone that sees or hears from Boisclair to call 911 or GSP at 770-535-6941.
