The Rabun County Sheriff’s Office says a wanted sex offender has been arrested and jailed.
Authorities took to social media on January 4 to ask for the public’s help in finding Kenneth Wilson Hastings. He was wanted on active criminal warrants for failing to change his address — a violation of the requirements for registered sex offenders.
The Rabun County Sheriff’s Office says Hastings was found around 8 a.m. on January 7 sleeping under an abandoned house on Wolfcreek Road. He’s now being held in the Rabun County Detention Center.
The 57-year old Hastings was convicted of child molestation in 1996.
His last known address was 24 Kell Lane in Lakemont, GA.
