A 52-year old man faces multiple charges after being arrested following an alleged domestic dispute in Demorest.Ronald McCallister was tracked down by law enforcement in the area of Wheeler Road and Highway 105 Monday afternoon. The search for McCallister began after officers were dispatched to the scene by Habersham County 911 in reference to a female attempting to exit a vehicle and yelling for help.
The victim told deputies she had been in a verbal and physical altercation with her boyfriend, whom she identified as McCallister.
Deputies searched the area for McCallister and the vehicle he left in, according to Habersham County Sheriff’s Lt. Matthew Wurtz. They found the unoccupied vehicle on Wheeler Road. A K9 unit was called in from Lee Arrendale State Prison to assist in the search. McCallister was located and taken into custody without incident.
He’s charged with false imprisonment, interference with a 911 call, and simple battery under the Family Violence Act.
