The Sautee Nacoochee Community Association (SNCA) has announced the officers and members of the 2022-2023 Board of Directors. They were announced at SNCA’s 2022 Annual Meeting on May 1.
The 2025 class of board members includes Joyce Etheridge, Michael Fisher, Cindy Foster Grace, Todd marks, Kevin McGrath, Jim Sweeney and Anna Viola.
Longtime resident of Sautee and retired teacher in the White County schools, Joyce Etheridge currently serves as the chair of the History Committee. She and her family (husband Jack and two daughters) have been SNCA members for over 30 years.
A performer and volunteer at SNCA, Michael Fisher is well known in the community. He currently works for Ninth District Opportunity, Inc., a social service agency serving Northeast Georgia. Mike and his wife Maria live in Sautee and have five children.
Cindy Foster Grace of Sautee, while not a native of White County, is as close as they come. She and her husband Mike have two children. Cindy currently serves on the Gallery Committee, taught a workshop at the recent Fiber Fest and has been a SNED speaker.
Todd Marks lives in Cleveland. President of Norton Mountain Insurance, he is known in the community for his community service on many boards and committees. A fan of folk pottery, Todd and his wife Veronica have two daughters.
Kevin McGrath lives in Sautee with his wife Karen. They have enjoyed attending all variety of programs at the Center and have five daughters. As a financial consultant with UBS Financial Services, he has supported the Center as a Corporate Partner.
James Sweeney is new to the community but not new to community involvement. The father of two children, his marriage to Joanne Steele of Sautee gave him a new family of four stepchildren. Jim is retired from a career with Delta and four years with Pacific Rim Logistics.
Anna Viola lives in Sautee with her husband Ben Goodman and two children. She is a consultant for several nonprofits and is also a virtual facilitator. Anna is passionate about her community and is currently serving on the Juneteenth planning committee.
Kathryn Vazquez of Clarkesville, as a member of 2022 class, has completed her term. Serving as Vice-President of the Board for two years, she plans to continue volunteering with the Lunch & Learn program and the Georgia Mountains Vintage Affair committee.
The officers who will lead the 2022-2023 Board of Directors are: Linda E. Harris of Sautee, President; Suzanne Marie Brosche of Dahlonega, Vice-President; Jon Schwartz of Clarkesville, Vice-President; Eugenia L. Foster, CPA of Cleveland, Treasurer; Gene Caso of Sautee, Secretary.
Members of the Board continuing their service are: Craig Bryant of Cleveland, Emily DeFoor of Sautee, Steve Lundeen of Cleveland, Bruce Martin, Michael J. Melton, and Mike Yarbrough all of Sautee.
Members of the Board of Directors serve three year terms. In serving on the Board they commit time and effort, set policy, formulate plans, raise money, manage resources, support programs, enhance SNCA’s relationship with the community and support the work of the director.
The Sautee Nacoochee Community Association is celebrating its forty-first year of service to the community. It is a 501(c)3, membership-based non-profit organization whose mission is to value and nuture individual creativity, along with the historical, cultural and environmental resources of the Sautee and Nacoochee valleys and surrounding areas.
