Patrick Brennan, the Executive Director of the Sautee Nacoochee Center in Sautee, announces that the Georgia Mountains Vintage Affair (GMVA) returns to its roots in 2020 with Wine. On Friday and Saturday nights, November 13 and 14, the Sautee Nacoochee Center presents, Swirl, Sip, Savor–A Blind Wine Tasting Soiree.
This gala evening of wine tasting, dinner, camaraderie, entertainment and the chance to win eight bottles of wine is the only budgeted fundraiser for the Sautee Nacoochee Center. It will be held from 6 to 9 PM in the historic gymnasium over two evenings so that attendance can be small and physical distancing large.
A maximum of 48 people may attend the soiree each night. Eight wines will be tasted, and a four-course plated dinner will be served. Visions of the Oasis, a local “Danse Orientale” group will perform, and guests can participate in a cash raffle.
Tables of four are available for $160. Each couple will also bring three identical bottles of their favorite wine.
Here is what to expect:
- Of the three bottles a couple brings, two will be used for tasting, one held for the winning wine package.
- All the wines will be packaged so they are unidentifiable and assigned a number. There will be three groups of four tables of four guests. Each group will taste the eight wines those couples brought.
- The fun will be in doing the tastings and playing the game to possibly win eight bottles of wine. Details of the game will be revealed each night.
- Expect the unexpected.
- Guests should bring cash (or cash equivalent) to participate in the cash raffle throughout each evening and bid on the winning wines.
- Dress is cocktail or evening casual.
