JEFFERSON (BOYS)
The #3-seed Dragons took on top-ranked Morgan County for the 8-AAA title, falling 58-51. Jefferson will have home court for the first round of the state playoffs.
JEFFERSON (GIRLS)
The regular season region champ Jefferson Lady Dragons fell in heartbreaking fashion to Hart County, 68-64. The girls will have home court for at least the first state playoff game.
WHITE COUNTY (GIRLS)
The #3-seed Lady Warriors took on #4 Chestatee in the 7-AAAA consolation game, with White County winning 63-55. Naomi Crumley led with 17 points, while Dasha Cannon posted a double-double of 14 points and 10 rebounds. The girls will open the state playoffs on the road as a 3-seed.
DAWSON COUNTY (BOYS)
The #2-seed Tigers took on top-ranked GAC for the region title, and came away with a convincing 86-76 win over the defending state champs and #1-ranked team in the state. Jasper Gibson had 39 points, 5 assists, and 4 rebounds. Eli Burruss had 14 points, Campbell Reed had 9, and Luke Chism had 8 points and 7 rebounds. Dawson’s epic win is arguably one of the biggest in program history, and means the Tigers have home court for at least the first two rounds.
DAWSON COUNTY (GIRLS)
The #2-seed Lady Tigers went up against #5-seed Cherokee Bluff in the consolation game to determine the 3/4 seed, and won 77-61. Kaylee Sticker scored a season-high 35 points, while Marlie Townley added 14. Dawson hits the road to open the state playoffs.
LUMPKIN COUNTY (BOYS)
The #6-seed Lumpkin boys fell in the region consolation game 83-81 against #4 East Hall in a nailbiter. The Indians will be a 4-seed for the state playoffs, opening on the road.
