A 5K Color Run to raise money for the non-profit health clinic, Grace Gate, will be held Saturday, Sept. 30, 2017, at Piedmont College.
Check-in begins at 8 a.m., with the race to begin at 8:30 a.m. in front of the Johnny Mize Athletic Center at the Demorest campus. The course winds through the campus and includes a number of stations where runners can be showered with colored powder, made of food-grade corn starch. The event will be timed, but participants at all levels are invited to run or walk the course.
The pre-race registration fee is $20 ($10 for students) and the race-day registration is $25 ($15 for students.) Information and online registration can be found at www.mypc5krun.com/home.html.
The event is sponsored by the Piedmont chapter of the American Marketing Association and the varsity Cross Country team. Funds raised through registration and donations will benefit Grace Gate in Demorest, which provides free, quality health care through volunteer physicians and other providers.
