Ruby Goldie Thomason Free, age 79 of Nicholson, formerly of Habersham County, passed away on Friday, October 8, 2021.
Born on April 3, 1942, in Cornelia, she was a daughter of the late Terry E. and Perna Tench Thomason. Mrs. Free was retired from ConAgra Foods with 27 years of service and was a member of Mud Creek Baptist Church. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. In her spare time, she was an avid reader.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Free was also preceded in death by sons-in-law, Yogi DeMonia, and Gary Thomason; daughter-in-law, Connie Smith Bryant; sister, Sylvia Thomason Parker.
Survivors include life-long friend, Clinton Floyd Swain, Sr. of Clermont; children, Tina Robin Bryant DeMonia of Clarkesville, Steven Benson Bryant of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Michelle Lynn Puckett of Jefferson, and Kendra Joy Free Miller (Bruce, Jr.) of Clermont; grandchildren, Chad, Heather, Brad, Casey, Jessie, Melissa, Stephanie, Colby, Haley, Stacie, Tracie, and Cade; 15 great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Vickie Thomason Evans (James) of Gainesville; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral services are 11 am on Monday, October 11, 2021, in the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Eddie Palmer officiating. Interment will follow in the Old Mud Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Sunday at the funeral home.
