Ronald “Ron” F. Neill

Ronald “Ron” F. Neill, age 65, of Toccoa, Georgia, went to be with our Heavenly Father on Sunday, July 9, 2023, following an extended illness.

Mr. Neill was born on September 8, 1957, in Los Angeles County, California, to the late Robert Mac and Mary Eliza Ricks Neill. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Lorraine Neill, and his brother, Kennedy “Kenny” Neill.

Ron grew up in Inglewood, California, and spent time in the Boy Scouts, later being involved in the leadership of Boy Scouts. At a young age, Ron went to work at the family business, Neill and Company, and then later worked for Max Factor. Ron then went to work for IMC Plastics, where he spent the majority of his career following his passion for mechanics. Throughout his career, Ron was promoted within the company to Maintenance Manager and then moved with them to Oregon and finally Georgia prior to the company closing in 2000. Ron was then brought on with Resilux when they acquired IMC Plastics prior to his retirement in 2008. In his younger years, Ron enjoyed racing and riding motorcycles as well as surfing and trips to local lakes. Following his retirement, he still enjoyed motorcycles by restoring them. Ron was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he was involved at the Mt. Airy Ward.

Ron is survived by his loving wife of nearly 25 years, Amarylin Diaz Neill, of Toccoa; son, Michael N. Neill, of Toccoa; brothers, Michael L. Neill, of California; Robert “Bob” Neill, of California; and numerous nieces and nephews as well.

Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, July 15, 2023, at the Mt. Airy Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 205 Dennis Cash Road, Mt. Airy, Georgia 30563.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, July 14, 2023, at the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel.

Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to the Diabetic Association of Atlanta, 75 Marietta Street NW, Suite 304, Atlanta, Georgia 30303.
